Denaby 94 for 5 v Wombwell Main

Wombwell Main visited Denaby on Saturday to play the return match in the Mexborough and District league. The home team decided to bat first.

With one run on the board Arthur Robinson, was easily caught and bowled by Turner.

Luther Robinson filled the vacancy, and together with his brother Walter, they carried the score to 72 runs before the latter was smartly caught by Turner for 24. Smith (pro) was the next batsmen, but he was always in difficulties and after scoring one he was put leg before to Oxley.

The game had to be abandoned with Denaby at 94 for five, which was hard lines for Luther Robinson. He gave a splendid display of batting and was 42 not out when the gamewas stopped. He had been at the wicket a little over an hour, and during his innings never gave a semblance of a chance
