A Kind Act at Conisborough

A correspondent writes:

I see by the bills that are out a few friends have arranged a concert to be held a week on Saturday, the 21st inst., at the Eagle and Child Hotel, for the benefit of Frank Keys, the veteran vocalist (who has been a member for over 30 years of the Flint Glass Maker’s Society of Great Britain and Ireland), who has always been ready and willing to assist the oppressed, the sick, or the unemployed.

In addition to the local talent already announced, the Conisborough United brass band will play a selection, and Mr Rubin Wright, comic and sentimental vocalist of Sheffield, is expected.

Mr Daniels and Mr. F. Keyes, will sing the favourite duet. “The Gypsy Countess” and I hope his friends will rally round him and give him a bumper for “Auld lang syne.”
