Lame on All Legs.
Doncaster, Saturday, William Gray, captain of a keel, was charged with cruelty to a horse at Denaby.
Inspector Yates (R.S.P.C.A) stated that the horse was drawing a boat towards Mexborough, and was unfit to work, being lame on four legs.
Defendant told him he had given £6 for the animal few weeks ago, and since the proceedings were initiated had destroyed the animal.
The magistrates took this into consideration, and imposed a mitigated fine of 10s.
