Last, but Not Least.

At last Denaby has decided to have war memorial of its own. It seems a little late in the day to come forward with scheme of this kind, but the Parish Council, who are responsible for introducing the question, explain their dilatoriness by stating that they were anxious to give the villagers an opportunity of taking the matter themselves.

However, unpunctual though It is, Denaby will quickly make up for lost time The village has war record of which justly proud. It is not yet decided what form the memorial is to take and whether it will have a village or a collieries’ war memorial.

Mr. W. H. Chambers, the managing director the Denaby and Cadeby Collieries, and the local leaders of the workmen have entered enthusiastically into the scheme.
