Last Post.
A Red light is shown behind the glass indicator plate on the trolley omnibus that carries a letter post box from Conisborough to Rotherham every evening except Saturday.
Good business is done. Letters are usually handed to the conductor who places them in the box. Some of the senders write regularly to friends and relatives in other parts of the country, and they have become well known to the bus conductors, who always give them cheery greeting.
Many local business people make use of the omnibus post box to their advantage.
The reason why the box is not carried on Saturdays is because it was found that very little use was made of the post on that evening. In the absence of Sunday delivery, few people think it north while to write on Saturday.
