The many admirers of Lavery, the popular inside left, who was transferred from Denaby United to Leeds City last week for £60 were pleased to hear he made two very promising debuts for his new club last week end. He turned out against Clapton Orient and Chelsea, and although he did not score in either match he is stated to have given very creditable displays, which pleased the directors of the Leeds City club immensely.
The terms of his agreement with the Leeds club are very generous and there is no doubt they have made a good bargain.
There must be something especially good about this tricky midget such clubs at Tottenham and Blackburn would not have be so anxious to secure its transfer.
