Good News for Denaby Parents
Son, who was given up

It will be remembered that some weeks ago. Driver Benjamin Lawrence (R.F.A.), of 78 Loversall Street, Denaby, was posted “missing, feared drowned.” He was with the Mediterranean expeditionary force, and was the youngest of five brothers serving with the colours.

The lad’s mother, Mrs Lawrence, 19 Firbeck Street, Denaby, has now received the following notification from the Artillery records office, Royal dockyard, Woolwich:

“Glad to inform you that your son, number 82329, driver Benjamin Lawrence, has now been reported not drowned.”

Better still, Mrs Lawrencehas received a few lines from the boy himself to say that he is still alive and doing well.

“I am looking forward,” he writes, “to the time when I shall see you, for it seems years ago since I last saw you; and if I have a bit of luck it will not be long before I am home again.”
