Legion’s Gift

At a meeting of the committee of the Conisbrough branch of the British Legion, at Brook Square on Sunday, Councillor G. Oldfield (Chairman) presiding, it was decided to approve a suggestion by Mr J. Brewster, a member of the committee, that the Urban Council should be offered a small triangular shaped piece of land from the venture’s recent purchase of the old mill piece site.

The secretary (Mr P. Brocklesby) was introduced to write to the council surveyor (Mr A. W. R. Taylor) on the subject.

The gift plot has a 100 yards frontage to Low Road, exactly opposite the Coronation Park and is helped that if the offer is accepted the council will use the land for conversion into lawns and flower beds.
