A man named Richard Witten was charged at the West Riding Court, Doncaster, on Saturday, with stealing a silk handkerchief, belonging to John Edward Jackson, boot and shoe dealer, Mexborough.
Prosecutor has a shop at Denaby, from which the article was stolen.
Defendant pleaded guilty, and said had been eight years in the army.
He was bound over under the First Offenders Act.
