Doncaster West Riding Police Court.

On Saturday, at this court, Henry Stranach, a pot hawker, of Mexbro’, was fined 25s. 6d., including costs, for being drunk and disorderly.

William Callerdine and Alfred Welling, of Conisbro’, were charged with having gambled at that village.

The former was discharged and the latter had to pay 5s. and 13s. 3d. costs.

Robert Cooper, a labourer, of Conisbro’, was charged with having done wilful damage to underwood at Conisbro’. A fine of Is. and 14s. costs was imposed.

Arthur Tuxford, of the same village, for doing wilful damage to a fence, had to pay Is. and 6s. costs.

Joseph Howorth, labourer; Bolton- on-Dearne, was fined 20s., including costs, for assaulting John Lumb, of that village.

John Grant, pig dealer, Misson, for drunkenness while in charge of a horse and cart had to pay 20s. and 12s. costs.

Impudent Theft at Mexbro’ At Doncaster, on Saturday, John Gallagher, labourer, Mexbro’, was charged with having stolen 2s. from the person of John Adamson, Mexbro’.

The prosecutor went into the dramshop at the Commercial Hotel, on Friday night., and found the prisoner there. The latter seized him round the neck with one arm, and then put the other hand into the trousers pocket of the prosecutor, removing 2s.

A waiter saw what was proceeding, and information was given to the police.

The prisoner was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment.
