Local Lads in France

Here are six South Yorkshire lads snapped “somewhere in France,” by a young French boy with whom they became friendly.

They are from left to right:

Driver W. Fairley, of 28, Manor Road, Swinton; Private William Corker, of 36, Frederick Street, Mexborough; Private William Crump, of Blythe Street, Denaby Main, a visiting transport driver; Sergeant B. Humphries, of Chaucer Road, Mexborough, and Private F. Gedney, of Loversall Street, Denaby Main.

They were called up together as Territorials.
