‘Madman’ at Large on Conisborough Farm.
P.C. Dobson told the magistrates at Doncaster, on Tuesday, that he was called to Manor Farm. Conisbrough, because one of the farmer’s men had ‘gone mad.’
The man was Michael Cunliff, who was very drunk, and wanted to fight the constable. When taken into custody he said ‘I don’t care for the – Black and Tans.’
Cunliff was charged on Tuesday with being drunk and disorderly, and when asked if he was guilty he said ‘I was drunk last night, that’s all I know.’
He was fined 9s.
