Making Their Own Sunday Amusements.
For gaming with coins in a public place at Ravenfield on the previous afternoon, the following men were each fined 40s at the Rotherham West Riding Court, to-day ;—
Michael Carmody and William Robinson, of Conisbro’; Edward Tudor, of Parkgate; John Mellor and John Mohn of Bramley; Thomas Gallagher, of Carr; and John C. Stacey, of Ravenfield.
Police constable Sparrow watched the defendants, who were in a group of twenty-five, for forty minutes, before the raid was made.
