Man Reported Killed at Conisbro’.

Yesterday morning the guard of a train on the Manchester, Sheffield, and Lincolnshire Railway informed the Mexbro’ station master that the remains of a man who had been decapitated lay on the line near the Conisbro’ tunnel.

The news had no sooner been received than the station master requisitioned an engine and brake van and, accompanied by several employees and the stretcher, proceeded to the spot indicated.

They found the remains were those of a large shepherd dog that had strayed on the metals and got its head cut off.
