There was a gate of some 2000 for Hull´s home match with Denaby on Saturday.
Denaby were under some pressure straightaway and within 2 minutes Clubley crowned fast concerted play on the left wing with an easy goal. 8 min later Clubley scored again. W.Prince and Clifford showed some speed on the wings for Denaby, but were fully supported, and after half an hour Hull went further ahead, Glenand scoring with a fine cross shot. Within 5 min Clubley completed his hat-trick with a fourth goal for the city, were rarely out of Denaby’s quarters. Near the interval Wilson broke through the Hull defence, but was given offside.
All resume with great – and from a free kick on the edge of the penalty area Lawrence’s shot rebounded off the goalkeeper into the net. Then Wienand outran Whitehead and went through to beat Green for the sixth time. Paul got three more goals before the end through Tuke, Lawrence and Power.
