Mr. Charles Jagger, the famous sculptor, who is a native of Kilnhurst, is at work on designs for submission to the Pope for a heroic figure of “Christ the King” which is to dominate the proposed new Roman Catholic Cathedral in Liverpool.

Mr. L. C. Hodges of Barnburgh Hall, general manager of the Denaby and Cadeby Collieries was involved in a skid at Rossington on Monday, which overturned his car but he escaped injury.

Mr. W.B. Cownie, managing director of the Mexboro’ and Swinton Traction Company and a number of other transport and electricity supply ubdertakings, died on Monday, aged 59.
