A native of Elsecar, the Rev. rank Smedley, now priest-in -charge of New Maltby and formerly curate of Swinton, is to be the new vicar of Bolton-on-Dearne in succession to the Rev, D. C. Sparks, who is going to the Diocese of Ely.
The first Nativity play to be given to the public since 1938 ended on Tuesday after a three-night run at Denaby Catholic School. There was a cast of 23 and eight boys and girls gave the background singing. The children made the stage and were responsible for the make-up and scenery.
