Leeds Assizes commenced on Thursday.

This is the twenty-third week of the Denaby and Cadeby strike.

Snow fell heavily in various parts of Yorkshire on Wednesday.

Mr. Rudge, a local prominent Good Templar, has this week left Mexboro’ for Cudworth.

The Denaby Main balance sheet for week ending November 29 shows an income of £194 8s. 8d.

Mr Bloom, auctioneer, has signified his desire to contribute towards the Denaby Miners’ Relief Fund.

Tomorrow (Saturday) will be the birthday of General Sir Redvers Buller, V.C., who was born in 1839.

A children’s concert will take place in Hardy’s Rooms on Wednesday next, in aid of the Montagu Hospital.

In the House of Commons on Wednesday, the third reading of the Education Bill was carried by 246 to 123.

The Denaby Main Colliery Co. in their statement of claim in their action against Mr. A. Lee, of Mexboro’, claim £1,000 damages.

At the Wath Urban District Council meeting on Tuesday, the Medical Officer reported the low death rate of five per 1000 for the past month.

The Denaby and District Musical Society announce a performance of the “Messiah” for Thursday, December 18th, in the New School, Denaby Main.

The concert given in the Swinton Congregational schoolroom on Monday night, in aid of Mr. A. Ardron, was a very bright and successful affair.

The Mexboro’ Pleasure Ground is not just now “a thing of beauty and a joy for ever,” for the recent heavy rains have made it a veritable swamp in places.  A definite and dry footway across would be a boon to the inhabitants of the locality.

On Sunday evening the Rev. T. Anderson, preaching at the Mexboro’ Congregational Church, will take “Dr Parker” as his subject at the evening service.  The Rev. Geo. Lang will take the same subject at Swinton Congregational Church.
