Some good coal contracts have come the way of this district recently.

Two Franciscan Friars from North Wales are conducting a Roman Catholic mission at Denaby Main.

Colliery peace workers in this district receive an advance of wages for October average about three shillings a shift.

It is possible that provision will shortly be made for special teaching in classical subjects at the Mexborough Secondary School.

The winter price of milk in London is 9d a quart – the summer price in this district.

Mexborough ex-servicemen are making a determined effort to preserve the existence of Mexborough as a local headquarters for war pension.

The Board of Education will hold an enquiry in the Church Hall, Conisborough on October 27 into the proposal to build a Roman Catholic School at Denaby Main.

Mr F.R. Fishbourne, the Great Central Railway Stationmaster at Mexborough, has been appointed Goods Agent for Mexborough. He will retain his present duties as stationmaster.

There are 600 pupils at the Mexborough Secondary School, and it is not anticipated that this number will ever be much less, even when further provision of secondary school accommodation is made in the district.
