Conisborough Parish Council have decided to formulate another baths scheme.

The Local Government Board have granted lighting powers for Adwick on Dearne.

A meeting of the Town Planning Conference will be held at Bolton on Dearne today (Friday).

The Wath Council “mystery” is the subject of further interesting letters in our correspondence column.

An excellent article descriptive of the Wath Hump, appears in “The Car” for October 9, 1912.

A large contingent of Swinton Unionists attended a big Unionist meeting at Rotherham on Tuesday evening.

Countess Fitzwilliam has consented to open a bazaar at Wombwell in aid of the Church, on Tuesday, November 12.

Harvest Festival Services will be held at Adwick Parish Church on Sunday afternoon and Wednesday evening next.

A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, in the Mexborough Primitive School, in connection with the Barnsley Building Society.

The Hospital tea at Mexborough on Thursday was another huge success. Over 2700 people were present.

The public generally and no idea of the tremendous amount of labour involved in organising this big effort.

Rumours are busy with the proposed new tennis club to be formed at Mexborough next season. We understand that five courts are to be delayed.

The Denaby Tennis Club, one of the oldest established in the district, will lose quite a group of valuable members if the scheme is carried into effect.

Mr William Milner, of Barnburgh, a member of an old and wealthy agricultural family, died on Monday, in his 82nd year.

The Mexborough Council have appointed Mr Harold Burgess, architect to the Wombwell Baths scheme to prepare a scheme for Mexborough.

Station Road, Conisbrough, is being widened considerably, and when the alterations are completed great improvement will have been affected.

We are pleased to learn that Doctor Harvey of Swinton, is making excellent progress, and is expected to be quite convalescent in a few days.

“Truth” in its current issue, commented on the Wath Council accounts controversy, but has apparently failed to grasp the exact position and affairs.

Barnburgh residents are impatient the completion of the new burial ground scheme. The churchyard is said to be sadly too full for any further internments.

Councillor Cliff exhibited base ingratitude at the meeting of the Mexborough Council, on Wednesday, when, in reply to an interruption, he exclaimed, “Hang the reporters!”

The Lady Health Visitor for Mexborough has brought before the Council the circumstances of the death of two infant twins, which she alleges to be due to the refusal of the parents to follow the directions as to feeding.

Unless better financial support is forthcoming for the Swinton Nursing Association, the Executive will be compelled to dispense with the services of one of the nurses. An appeal is printed elsewhere in this issue.
