Conisborough played their third home engagement on Saturday against Swinton in the Mexborough and District League.
Conisborough were gain easily beaten by 63 runs. Swinton were regarded as rather formidable opponents, and it was not expected that Conisborough would pull off a victory.
Bilbrough, the Conisborough pro, for a third timehad a good bowling average claiming seven wickets for 49 runs. He also shaped fairly well in the batting department.
Feirn, the Swinton pro, achieved a more brilliant performance than Bilbrough, taking no less than six wickets for 18 runs.
G Hardy for Conisborough, was the top scorer, making a total of 15 not out.
Conisborough won the toss and the Rev W.A.Strawbridge decided to allow the visitors to bat. The light was very poor at the commencement but improved as the game was in progress.
