So ends the Season!
Denaby lose their last Match
Denaby United 2 Peterborough United 6
So ends the game! There was not a great deal worth remembering about this last match of an unenviable season for Denaby.
Peterborough won pretty much as they wished. They were a couple of goals up inside the first 12 min, White heading in and Sharpe following on with a crisp shot from a goal mouth melee.
Then Denaby called the tune for a spell, and Newey made ground for Williams
to rub out one Peterborough goal.
But 4 minutes later Parr restored the advantage with the beginning of what proved to be a well earned hat-trick. The second of the trio, and Peterborough’s fourth was scored just before the interval.
The advantage was held in the second half, for though Williams scored again for Denaby after 5 min of sustained aggression, Parr made the Peterborough total five, andthen hewas responsible for the last goal of the Midland League season at Tickhill Square when his shot was deflected out of Liddle´s reach
