Rawmarsh 72 , Denaby 103

Rawmarsh played their first home match in the Mexborough and District League on Saturday, having as opponents Denaby, who since the commencement of the season have gained such notoriety in the cricket world.

All the Denaby batsmen were dismissed for 103, against which Rawmarsh, only knocked together 72 runs, thus being defeated by 31 runs. It was a beautiful day for cricket, and there was a fairly good attendance of spectators.

W.Moore, the Denaby captain, won the toss and decided to send in his men to bat first. With the score at 12 for 3, Luther Robinson was joined by F.Fisher.

Despite several changes in the bowling, the two batsmen kept on scoring to put a totally different complexion on the game. Luther Robinson at 76 gave Parkin an easy chance, after making 35 by group cricket, which included seven 2´s, two 3´s and one hit for 5.

After a short while Fisher was caught for a thoroughly well played and serviceable 31.
