Denaby United 2  Swinton 0

This, the last of Denaby home matches, was witnessed by only a moderate attendance. Denaby pressed at the outset, but Ryans shot over from a foul. Denaby had the best of the game, but shot badly.

Hague had to be assisted from the field, through an accident, and directly after Meakin worked through and scored with a grand shot. Thorpe was then tested by Ryans with a grounder, and following this Birks broke away and centred well, but the pass was not accepted. Swinton only reached Dean occasionally, but once when McNeill was right in front, Lawley robbed him nicely.

Robinson and Ardron defended well, and a lot of pressure by the homesters proved unavailable, and at half-time the score was Denaby, 1 goal; Swinton 0 goal.

Swinton resumed with 10 men, but W.H.Taylor caused Lawley to clear immediately, and Smith then forced a corner with a fine shot, the ball being headed wide from the corner kick. Meakin then broke through, but shot wide with only Thorpe to beat.

After nice combination, Thorpe saved from A. Whitehouse, but Hallett beat him with a ground shop, and after this reverse Swinton improved, and the game was more even. Smith accepted a centre by Birks, but he shot badly, as did do.A.Taylor later.

Play towards the close was of a scrambling nature, and slightly in favour of Swinton
