May Day Procession

Members of the St Albans Church and a threatening evening for their May Day procession on Sunday but, nothing daughter, they carried out their programme which was very impressive.

The crowning ceremony was carried out by Mary Hughes (May Queen) who was attended by Christine Cooke, Celia Handley, Mary Boylan and Frances Boylan.

There was a large number of church members in the procession.

Father Heeran of the Mexborough church was also in the procession and later preached the sermon after the crowning ceremony and gave the Benediction.

The procession was held just before a rain storm broke over the village
