Gunner W. H. J. McKenzie, of the R.A., is the son of Mrs. Jones, of 36, Loversall Street, Denaby Main.
His father served for 8 ½ years in the Army.
Gunner McKenzie joined up last year and is still serving in England. He married a Manchester girl just after Easter.
He was a member of the Denaby Church Lads Brigade and before commencing work at Denaby Colliery was at Mexborough Secondary School.
