Last night a crowded meeting of the Denaby Main branch of the Union was held the lodge room, Doncaster road, Mexborough.
The men considered the owners’ proposal as made at the recent meeting held at Sheffield, and decided to abide by the Birmingham and Notts conferences.
The case of the boys, who the number 150 have given their notices for an advance of wages, was fully gone into, and it transpired that many them were underpaid.
The manager, Mr. W. H. Chambers, has announced his intention of giving the matter his fullest consideration, and on the advice of the branch officials the lads employed on the morning shift decided to withdraw their notices the understanding that the manager and the men try to bring about satisfactory arrangement
