Mexborough and Denaby Captures.
The Committees of the Mexborough Town and Denaby United Clubs have been busy team-building, in preparation for next season.
Of their old players, Mexborough have retained Clarke (goal), Crossley (right-half), and Tompkins (centre-half). The new men secured include Gougn (right back), who made a successful debut in April’s closing matches, L. Burkinahaw (inside right), and Dawson (inside left), of Kilnhurst Town, and Dyer (outside left), of Hovland, whilst further additions are expected before the present, week ia put.
Denaby United have been successful in retaining most of their old team, those re-signed including Hancock (goal), Welch and Swinbourne (backs), J. Westwood and Smith (half-backs), J. Ball, Marsh, and Hartley (forwards), together with most of the reserves, who won the Sheffield Association League Championship. The utmost satisfaction is felt at the return of Dyal (Rotherham Town) and Blackburn (Glossop), who two years ago formed one of the beet right wings ever at the disposal of the Denaby Club.
