I’m Done—Stick To Him
Edward Coffery, a Denaby miner, was charged on remand, at Doncaster yesterday, with being drunk and disorderly at Mexborough, and with assaulting Police-constable Archer, on Saturday week.
When being arrested prisoner assaulted the officer, got him on the ground, and kicked him on the face and body. Someone in ‘the crowd also kicked him on the head, and the officer called a tramway conductor to his assistance, saying I’m done—stick to him.”
Committed to prison for three months, and fined 2s. 6d. and costs.
Another Denaby miner, Michael Carmody, charged with being drunk and disorderly and assaulting Police-constable Rutter, was fined 40s. and costs for the assault and 5s. and costs for drunkenness.
