Miner Dies from Injuries at Denaby Main

Mr. Frank Allen held an inquest at the Fullerton Hospital, Denaby Main, yesterday, on James Kane (38), miner, 30, Cliff View, Denaby Main, who died in the hospital on Saturday from injuries received in the Denaby Main mine earlier in the day.

A verdict “Accidental death” was returned

James Kain (38), of Cliff View, Denaby, died on Saturday from fractured skull received in the pit that morning.

He was in charge of jig block, when an empty tub came off the road on to the side, knocking off two props, and knocking the man down, when his head came in contact with the rails.

He was removed to the Fullerton Hospital, where he died.
