“Beat Nite”

“Beat Nite” at Conisbrough Mona Working Men’s Club, at present held on Wednesday and Friday each week, is to be extended to cover Monday evening as well.

Trustee Mr Sid Wood told the “South Yorkshire Times” this week that this was a result of a good support given on these nights by young people. “We are getting a good crowd in here on Wednesdays and Fridays, and we are going to show them that they will get back from the club what they put in.

“We hope to provide these people with the entertainment they want—if we are asked to book any particular group, we will, try to get them, and we, are going to book the top groups we can get hold of, possibly even television and recording groups.”
