The Nameless Heroes
Think of those braves, who are facing the foe,
Offering their manhood, their youth it may be;
Nameless to all but those dear ones who know
That sons have departed to keep England free
Perhaps some will never again come to our shore
Yet some may return crowned with glory and pride
Whatever their lot – let us bless – praise still more
The heroes who nobly claim honour their guide
And whilst blessing the son, give a prayer for the mother
Who has given of the best in her love for the land
Be it a husband, a son or brother
She has added one more to the glorious band
So, let us unite in fervent accord
To cheer for the braves with one mighty voice
Fight hard! Try your best! Is their whispered password
Success crowned with glory their call to rejoice
