Holland Trip for Conisbrough Boys

About 50 boys and several masters of Conisbrough Northcliffe Modern school are to have a”nautical” holiday next year.

Headmaster Mr. A. Young was formerly a teacher in a London Nautical school.

The boys and masters are hiring a 120 ft diesel barge and plan to take it from Rotterdam, through the waterways of Holland, with a skipper and a hired hand helping them.

Mr. Young, practising his knots, told a “South Yorkshire Times”‘ reporter this week that the idea was to teach the boy to fend for themselves aboard the barge on a sea Scout basis.

They hope to spend a week touring Holland during the Whitsuntide holiday next year.
