Negligence at Denaby
A Foolish Act
Mr. Frank Allen prosecuted in the case where John Collins, a colliery onsetter, was charged with a breach of the Mines Act at Denaby on Feb. 14th.
The offence was that of not taking proper care of his safety lamp. The defendant had a safety lamp in his possession, and whilst running some tubs in the cage, he hung his lamp on one of the tubs.
It was very light for the time of the year, and the result was that the lamp was smashed up.
