New Heating System

Personal loan from members of Conisbrough Baptist Church will help to warm members of the congregation this winter.

It was decided that the present heating system needed replacing but instead of borrowing money from a finance company church members themselves have decided to pay for the project interest free.

A gas system has been chosen costing an estimate of £420 or £430 and it is hoped to have been covered by the whole of the amount with loan from the individual member in £5 £10 £15 or £20 units.

The minister the Rev C Keogan told the South Yorkshire Times on  Monday,

“So far we have had dozens of donations and we are hoping to raise £200 in cash by the end of the year. Work should start in January or February and we have been promised that if it begins on a Monday it should be complete by the Friday.”

Mr Keogan added that the aim was to repay the loans over 2 years. The project is perhaps characteristics  of the attitude of the Conisbrough Baptist church for it is understood that when the present building was erected some 40 years ago the project was financed partially through  personal donation.
