New Medical Officer
Here is a photograph of Dr. John Leiper, new Medical Officer for Conisbrough — Mexborough —Dearne urban districts and No. 30 Area of the West Riding County Council.
Dr. Leiper, aged 35, is married and has two small daughters. He qualified’ at Liverpool Medical School 12 years ago and spent six years in the RAMC, doing preventive medical work in North Africa, Sicily and Italy.
Dr, Leiper was awarded the MBE in 1945, and for the past two years has been Medical Officer to Stanley (Co. Durham) Urban Council, a mining urban district of 50,000 population.
