No Contest at Denaby
“I’ll have 10 rounds with you, Mr Glithro,” was the challenge that officer receive from a drunken Denaby filler named James Marsden, who straightway peeled off his coat and squared for a fight.
Although he offered to get “Iron” Hague to referee the match, the officer declined to take him on.
Marsden was fined five shillings and costs for being drunk and disorderly.
