No Floodlit Castle

A suggestion that the Ministry of Works should be approached with a view to permitting Conisbrough Caste to be floodlit as part of Conisbrough’s Festival of Britain celebrations, failed to find a seconder when Conisbrough Urban Council discussed the celebrations in committee on Wednesday.

The only two definite proposals the Council reached were that a programme of entertainment should be provided during the pit holiday week and that the local celebrations should only extend for the period of that week.
