No Money. – No Beer.
Denaby Man’s Silly Act.
Edward Green, a Denaby miner, was charged by Mr W. I. Gibbs, landlord of the Denaby main hotel, with doing damage to an electric lamp, etc On July 29.
Mr W. M. Gichard, who appeared to prosecute, said defendant went into what was known as the Long room of the Denaby Main Hotel, he ordered some beer, and on it being brought to him, he said he would pay for it when he got some money.
The beer was taken away from him and he picked up an empty pint pot and threw it through a window. The pot, in its flight, also caught an electric lamp. Which was also smashed. The damage was estimated at 4/6.
Defendant appeared and pleaded guilty, and was fined 5s and 15s costs, and the damage 4s 6d.
