Non-Attendance.
Joseph Whitaker, miner, of Denaby, was charged with not having sent his child to school regularly.
Mrs. Whitaker said the child was too delicate.
The Chairman: Then you should have brought a doctor’s certificate.
The woman: We have to go to Mexborough, two miles away, for a certificate.
The attendance officer: There is a doctor in Denaby. They can get certificates for nothing.
The woman: He tells us he does not find paper for the School Board. We have to go to Dr. Twigg, at Mexborough.
