Non-Paying Travellers at Conisbro’.

On Tuesday at the Doncaster Wrest. Riding Court, John Smith, labourer and John Clark, iron turner, were charged with travelling on the Great Central Railway from Sheffield to Conisbro’ without tickets on Monday.

On the arrival of the 1.56 p.m. from at Conisbro’ Smith was found under the seat and the other man was in the act of getting under the seat. They were asked for their tickets, and said they had neither tickets, nor money.

Defendants, who said they had been to Sheffield in search of work, were each fined 20s, and costs or 14 days.
