Not His Fault; but He Had To Pay
Andrew Burniston, traction engine owner, Conisborough, was summoned for allowing a traction engine to travel on the highway at Bentley, with only two men in charge, on the 11th inst.
PC Topple proved the case, and defendant stated that he sent three men on with the engine and paid three men. He thought the driver was responsible seeing that the other two men were in his charge.
The Chairman: You will be fined 10 shillings including costs, but mind in future that it does not occur again because it is very dangerous.
