Denaby Utd – Nottingham Forest Reserve 1 Denaby 2

Sheffield Daily Telegraph – Friday 27 March 1908

Nottingham Forest Reserve 1 Denaby United 2

The last home match on Forest Reserves’ card was played on a soaked pitch at the City Ground, Nottingham, yesterday.

Denaby were soon on the aggressive, and had the satisfaction of getting a lead by Hofton, who got through on his own account. Then the home forwards had a turn, but their shooting was weak. Just before the interval, from a scramble in the goal-mouth, Clements equalised.

Five minutes after the resumption the visitors once more got ahead, Hofton again being responsible. Immediately afterwards the goal had a narrow’ escape, Adcock just turning Whitchurch’s shot over the bar. The closing stages were very exciting. Green made fine attempt when in an awkward position to put Forest terms, but failed.

Result: Denaby United . 2 goals. Nottingham Forest Reserves . 1 goal.
