Denaby Draw at Hunslet.

After a series of Cup tie matches in various competitions, Denaby United resumed play in their league games on Saturday when they met Hunslet on the ground of the latter.

These teams are old rivals, and ever since they met, and fought so hard in English cup preliminary ties they have usually played a good game.

McNeil kicked off on behalf of the Denaby, and the ball was at once taken to the visitors goal line, Eggington scoring before the game was a minute old.

Subsequently, play was even an open, neither side been able to combine effectively.

As time advanced the Denaby men improve their forward play; although their finishing touches were weak, but at length, McNeil penetrated the home defence with a shot from close range.

Play afterwards assumed an even character, rapid exchanges taking place, and the interval arrived with the teams on equal footing, one goal each.

After resuming, a meritorious piece of play was put in by Keech, and Tierney, the latter shooting across the goalmouth, but without effect. Wortley was next prominent saving his charge under difficulties whilst on the floor.

Denaby were now playing the best game, their forwards frequently getting to close quarters, but the erratic shooting threw chances away.
