Twice in the Lead
Denaby get a Point at Newark

Newark 2 Denaby United 2

Denaby United made their second visit to Newark on Saturday and were fortunate to bring back a point. On their previous visit they won 6-1 in a friendly match.

Really good football was seen in the first half, the respective goalkeepers – Gibson and Orton – been repeatedly called upon.

The Denaby backs played soundly, and among them. Williams was outstanding. Well and Brown were the pick of Newark. Newark´s defence was the first to be penetrated, ARDRON giving Denaby, the lead 2 min from the interval.

On resuming, Newark bombarded the Denaby goal and their efforts were rewarded when Bell beat Gibson, who had just previously brought off two good saves.

Both sides continued to play fast football, and ARDRON added a second following a good movement on the right. Bell levelled scores and was unlucky not to give Newark a third in the last few minutes.
