Two Goals Behind But Denaby Force a Victory

Fulwood 2 Denaby United  3

Although they were two goals down at half time at Fulwood, Denaby brought off a 3-2 victory.

Wilkinson and Goldsmith were absent from Denaby´s team, and Horner, who was home on leave from the Army, and Carr substituted.

Playing superior football Fulwood fully deserved their two goal leads through CAWTHORNE and PRESSLEY.

In the second half, however, Denaby bombarded the Fulwood goal, repeatedly hitting the woodwork. Taking advantage of mistakes by the Fulwood defence Denaby drew level, and then scored the winning goal. Denaby´s goals were scored by BURKINSHAW (2) and SHELTON.
