Obituary – Henry Dunning
Still one more well known Denaby man has been claimed by death in the person of Mr. Henry Dunning, who these last few years has carried on the business as a carter, etc., and was previously a collier in the Denaby Pit. He had suffered for some considerable time from dropsy, and after a lingering illness, died on Monday, in the presence of his family, which is a large one.
He was formerly an active member of the Denaby Brass Band, and an active worker in the cause of local Forestry, in which society he held high office. He had lived in Denaby many years, and after many ups and downs in life was just beginning to taste the fruits of prosperity.
Mr. Dunning was not by any means a man of public life, being somewhat reserved in demeanour, but he was a man of sound commonsense and broad, though plain, views, and the family will miss a loving and devoted father, and the widow a worthy husband. The funeral took place yesterday (Thursday).
