Obituary – John Liversidge
At one time well-known in the Denaby and Mexborough district, Mr. John Liversidge, aged 84, passed away at the home of his grandson, Mr. A. E. Liversidge, 18, Beech Street, South Elmsall, on Tuesday week.
He had lived at South Elmsall for eleven years but spent most of his life at Old Denaby being a deputy at Denaby Colliery for 22 years.
Mr. Liversidge was a prominent sportsman and in great demands as a timekeeper for races. He was a member of Moorthorpe Empire Club. He leaves four sons.
The funeral was at Moorthorpe on Friday, the Rev. C. H. Sheldrake officiating
