Obituary – Mr H.C. Taylor

The death occurred on Saturday after brief illness from pleurisy and complications, Mr Herbert Craven Taylor, aged 52, Doncaster Road, Denaby Main.

Mr Taylor came to Denaby 27 years ago to manage the pawn broking and jewellery business of Mr H.H. Wray, and upon Mr Wray’s retirement several years ago was retained in the control of the same business as a present proprietors, David Haigh Limited.

During his long residence in Denaby he has won the esteem and respect of a white circle of friends, to whom his death came as a great shock.

He leaves a widow, and their child, a daughter, is settled in America

Mr Taylor was a native of Leeds, and before coming to Denaby was engaged in business in Leeds and Bradford.

The funeral took place on Wednesday at Conisbrough, the vicar of Denaby, the Reverend S Powley officiating.
