Obituary
Mr. W. Pearson
Popular Denaby Resident
It was with regret that those who knew him heard of the sudden death last Thursday of Mr. William Pearson (57) of 64, Tickhill Street, Denaby Main.
He came to the district 20 years ago and during that period the family have made many friends. He had been foreman mason at Denaby and Cadeby Collieries for a number of years.
The esteem in which he was held manifested at the funeral on Tuesday at Denaby. He was a sideman at the Parish Church and during the war he had been busy training the A.R.P. personnel at the Amalgamated Denaby Collieries Ltd.
At the funeral service at the Parish Church the Rev. S. Powley of Plaistow, London, (lately Vicar of Denaby Main) officiated and spoke of Mr. Pearson’s honest, upright, and worthy character and his fondness of home life. Mr T. Holcroft was at the organ.
